How to buy vintage clothing online: the Vintegia guide
Why buy vintage online?
Vintage clothing isn't just fashion—it's a conscious act. Buying second-hand means choosing unique pieces, reducing the environmental impact of fast fashion, and accessing quality that the contemporary market struggles to replicate. A 90s Levi's jeans has a different construction than one today. An archival Versace shirt tells a unique story of a season.
How our selection process works
At Vintegia, every garment goes through a manual process: we observe it, measure it, photograph it without retouching. Any flaws—when present—are explicitly documented in the description. The principle is simple: what you see is what you get. What you see in the photo is what you receive.
What to check before buying
Before buying a vintage item online, always check: exact measurements (not just the size, which varies by decade and brand), fabric composition, and the presence and description of any flaws. At Vintegia, we publish width, length, and—for shirts—armpit-to-armpit width. These are the measurements that truly matter, not the label.
The vintage brands we select
Our selection includes Italian and international brands with a history built on quality: Stone Island, C.P. Company, Levi's, Etro, Gianni Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani Jeans, Burberry, Carhartt, Napapijri, Lee, Diesel, and many others. We don't accumulate—we select.
How to care for vintage items
Each item requires specific care based on its composition. Cotton can be machine-washed at 30°C, silk by hand or on a delicate machine cycle, virgin wool dry cleaned or on a delicate low-temperature cycle. We always recommend washing before the first use—even for pieces in excellent condition.
